Foraging with Friends Basics Workshop
Have you ever taken a walk in the woods and wondered if the plants around you were edible, but didn't know where to start? Our friend and expert Lesley grew up in the East Tennessee and Western North Carolina mountains foraging for native plants and mushrooms. She is going to share the knowledge she has learned over the years with you!
In this class, we will go over basic foraging safety and plant identification. We will start in the barn to learn foraging safety, tools, lingo, what to do/ not to do, and she'll share some of her honeyhole location information with you for the harder to find species. Bring your baskets because after our safety course we are going on a foraging adventure around the farm to see what we can find. You will be able to learn hands on and ask as many questions as you like, and keep your foraging finds to take home!
